It appears there was a problem with the website status update. Today my attorney received a letter that my MTR has been approved. I guess my I-485 is back on track now.

Congrats - there was no need to go through this. Unfortunately the system has been this way and in some way or the other most of us get into these situations.

What does the employment contract between your husband and his employer say? This document will be the key to what your husband can or can't do.
The problem is the employement letter does not says anything. We will be looking into the handbook of the company, to see what it says.

Do not fret. Berkeleybee is still around but not as active on the forum because of extreme pressure at work. I can assure you that BerkeleyBee will be back as soon as the activity picks up to help us with all the stats and understanding the legal languages in the bill. there is no discrepancy here.
The no. of members has been increasing as new members are joinin the forum thatz it. So every time we check it out we might find a different no.

Go ahead and file 485/EAD etc. EAD approval takes 2-3 months. To be on the safe side, apply for H1 extension also . it is safe to keep H1 till you get your 485 approval.
As per immigration-law, filing h1 extension could be a problem along with EAD, as H1 ext can be rejected. See my earlier post.

Translate it. Sign a letter of your compretence of English ? Hindi language & get it notarized. It is that easy. Do not waste a signle penny on translation. I have been doing it for ages.

What do you mean by "future employment category peoples"?- is not everybody getting employment based GC a "future employment category people"? Or is there anything diffrenet in the way you apply?

Many Greencard holders have a difficulty marrying spouses from another country (than USA). USCIS imposes harsh rules and Greencard holders can not even bring their spouses on a travel permit for visitation rights. Prisoners fare better as they have visitation rights and their spouses can come and see them.
V-Visa is introduced to alleviate these problems of Greencard holder spouses. But V-Visa provisions allow only greencard holders from 2000 and before to bring their spouses here and V-Visa does not expire.
Is IV going to work on extending the V-Visa provisions to beyond 2000?

I called USCIS and they told me to wait for 30 days and then give them a call back. If I call them after 30 days about the missing card, they might open a case for it. I am not sure how many days it will take for them to send the replacement card.
Should I go ahead and send them the replacement application for the missing EAD? any suggestions/experiences?

I was out of the car (Camera always at the ready) and I was taking photos of the girls dancing and got noticed (no cost).

has anyone requested USCIS to send AP via Fedex/UPS?
I am thinking of sending USCIS a Fedex return envelope so that they can use that instead of regular USPS mail.

I doubt if a Masters qualify for EB1. But if you filed under EB1, then you should be able to file I485 immediately as that category is CURRENT. Check and confirm the category your employers filed and post your question again.
There is no way you can file under EB1
You can go max to Eb2 or Eb3
if its big co you work for then they will stick to eb3
if its some tolly molly software co then u get eb2
either way you are screwed.

The Senate and the house may be passing the tax refund bill soon (due to slowing economy). There is lot of pressure on the government to act soon.
Can we get them to attach atleast one of our provisions with these bills - the most important and non controversial being recapture of unused visa numbers.
Just a suggestion................I know there is no dearth of suggestions.
We should definitely try (in addition to writing letters).
Can we get some more information about this bill? Who are the key players supporting/pushing it, who/how do we contact to try and push some of these reforms?
Can we get them to attach atleast one of our provisions with these bills - the most important and non controversial being recapture of unused visa numbers.
