But that is the problem. Instant messaging has been on phones for over two years. Why would they want to sell a phone on instant messaging if everybody pretty much already has a phone with IM already? There's no reason to buy it if they're going to advertise a feature people already have it on their phones.
And how exactly is IM faster than texting?
just seems to me that people are acting like its a feature that shouldn't be on a phone rather then one that is almost standard. it also just seems that IM's are quicker conversations then texts, but maybe i'm wrong about that cause on phones it's pretty much the same thing.
Yes, especially on the tiny keypad on a phone? At best, the iPhone might have a slid-out keypad, which won't make IM-ing any faster than texting.

Hi,
My sister looged into my ipad with her itunes account and now I have logged back in the updates ask for her password on her itunes account not mine.
If i buy something new its ok but the updates are for her account and I cannot get rid of this?
Any ideas?

Bought a AEBS last month. I upgraded from a Linksys G router. My house is around 4-5 thousand sq. ft. Before with my linksys router it reached the master bedroom fine. (Router is located in the opposite corner of the house on the 1st floor). Now i barely get 1 bar or sometimes nothing. Anything i can do besides buying an airport express? I thought these N routers had more range; etc.

I KNEW something was going on with Apple with regards to Bertrand.
All the amazing benefits both with speed, less HDD space usage on a clean install, OSX in general (Darwin) and even server or core shells we owe to Bertrand Serlet; not this dingle berry kiss-arse.
I worry that OSX will go complete IOS with a larger screen & storage.
Bertrand Serlet ... you will be solely missed and I HOPE you still get to fiddle with Darwin in each open source iteration.

I really liked this one. I've tried many other apps that gather the Album Cover art for iTunes songs/albums but this is the best by far.
It's called Clutter (http://www.sprote.com/clutter/).
Launch Clutter when you have iTunes open. As a song is playing, Clutter automatically looks up the album art. Once found, under the File menu select copy to iTunes and BAM, it's there for the WhOLE album. Sweet.
One note. If it doesn't find the art, just go under the File menu and choose "Find cover in Amazon". Just type in different variations of the artist or song and i'm sure it'll pop up.

What was the image size? If you're wanting to get a leg up in the field for some real Photoshop work back at the office, you'll be using some big files. Especially if you start adding Layers. I doubt that these were very high rez. With 512MB ram, this is would a terrible real-world print application. Others have said this would be nice to play around with or to show off the iPad, but that's about all. I suppose you could do low-rez composites for a client, but I'd rather do that with a 15-17-inch MBP. You have a big screen, Photoshop CS5, plug in a stylus, 8GB RAM ---> that's a comp tool. IPad...? Not so much.

Mine was 10MB ... and people told me I was wasting money since a second floppy drive (5 1/4) would be more than enough (one to boot the OS, one for the data).
Hehe, I once partitioned a 20MB drive into 24 partitions but that was for testing purposes.
I also bought a 100MB drive for $1100 and a 32MB SIMM for the same price. Sometimes I cry when I think back. ;)

I have a grid of thumbnail images on my HTML page. When you click on an image, the background fades and a larger version of that chosen image pops up for better viewing. However, it pops up BEHIND the horizontal Menu Machine links. This menu bar stretches across the top of the page just under the main banner.
How can I fix it so the inflated image isn't obscured by the menu bar?

as in the What cool little OS apps do you use? Thread (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=58101) i've enthusiastically urged people to give butler (http://www.petermaurer.de/nasi.php?thema=butler&sprache=english) a go. its a great second dock/os9 application menu as well as a quicksilver-esque fast finder launcher. it also customizes smart items to skip itunes tracks, control volume, and rate music on the fly. very customizable and the only thing you'll run in the background of your machine. it is donorware, but you'll feel like paying for it. ;)

I could not disagree more. There is nothing wrong with a focused keynote. In fact, it is somewhat refreshing once and a while to have a situation where the man himself takes the time to really go into what I believe is one of the most revolutionary concepts I have seen. Not only is it functional, but aesthetically it is amazing. The price is high if you were expecting them to give it away, but the fact is they have pulled it off and brought mobile technology to the next level and far beyond.

If I did it right, I could get a bit over 400 miles out of a fill of gas (not the ENTIRE tank, but what I'd normally fill it to) in my 300C on the freeway. I usually get more like 22mpg than 24 though, because when I go on road trips that car is loaded UP. XD

It's exactly why Amazon forces you to put some things in your cart to see the price. Amazon can't advertise a product below Price X, according to their agreement with the manufacturer. If they did, Amazon would be diluting the perceived market value of the product, which would force other resellers to follow suit. This forces the market price lower, and then resellers start putting pressure on the manufacturer to lower THEIR price (to resellers) so the retailers/resellers can maintain healthier margins.
It turns into a race towards the bottom, where a product gets commoditized. Manufacturers try to avoid that at all costs, because they only have a few products where they can sell at a high-margin or premium, for so long, before competition creates a pressure to drive the price down.
Yes, it's a loss leader item.

I'll second the recommendations for MX-2 and rubbing alcohol. I used those on my G4 also with good results.
