    Finally! An iMac rumor!!!!

    **Bump**

One can't never have enough iMac rumours! What a breath of fresh air.

Please, please, please let the refreshed iMac drop the May 3rd (I *highly* doubt any new iMac's will be released next week).

Just don't expect the world to conform to your way of life...

There is a big difference between "conforming to" and "tolerating and respecting."

the analyst also believes the iTV will have advanced user interface software to further the ultimate goal of improving user experience and simplifying consumers' use of content.Maybe during boring movie credits the iTV will switch the display to a Visualizer, like the one in iTunes, or automatically change all commercials into Get A Mac ads.

I read about the new iCal before updating, and actually saved the old iCal from DP1 and copied it over after updating to DP2. It worked just fine, though it's interesting to note that the 'ugly' DP2 version was much smaller in size than the original DP1 version. DP1 iCal was over 40mb, while the new & ugly iCal was only around 13mb.

Oh well, I still happily sacrificed the extra space for a more usable interface.

How exactly was it more usable?

The only thing that changed is the color, the layout is exactly the same.

Actually I kind of like my gel case. It perfectly fits and makes the back look great. I intended to wait for the belkin's clear hard case to come out, but now I'm going to order the full set of this gel case and it's still cheaper.

Not really, The reason I spent the money on Oakleys is because from what I've read and seen, Oakley's are tough and will last you years. But also if I travel and don't wish to wear them I want to put them somewhere where they will not be crushed, or drowned, or broken.

I'm also planning on going into the Coast Guard, So if/when I travel or etc, I want to take great care of my equipment & personal belongings.

I got that size because it was the smallest water proof size, I also plan on getting another pair someday.

When I spend $200.00 on a pair of sunglasses, When they are not on my head, I want them put away.

Sorry why do you need to keep then dry?! I'm sure they will get wet if you are a coast guard! and how much was that case?

    My last purchase was...........

Spoke with an expert video editor last night and he thinks it's worth waiting for Stoakley-Seaburg (http://techreport.com/etc/2006q4/clovertown/index.x?pg=1) in the 8 core Mac Pro which he thinks is more likely to happen around May-June with a pre-announcement at NAB perhaps. So while I hope the 8 core gets announced, I am probably not going to be the earliest of adopters after all.

Want to give my son a true widescreen video iPod for this past Christmas so will be looking for that as well.

iTV will be interesting but I'm not sure how it will fit in with my mix yet as I don't fully understand its advantages to date.

Will be more interested in visiting the Canon booth and taking a closer look at the HV10 (http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelDetailAct&fcategoryid=177&modelid=14059&WT.mc_id=C123719aven.com/) as my first HDV camera.

Interesting after the new GNOME 3.0 release, I'm convinced we will move farther way from the typical menu layout to a more minimalist, more web interactive interface. iOS is probably the closest to that, but I see windows looking more like FireFox 4 for Windows with the Firefox pop down menu and elimination of File, Edit, View etc. at the top. Mac OS 10.8 or 11 will probably follow suit, except have more webOS like functionality, and will converge several apps into 1

Other Animal species have bisexual relationships so it must be natural.

Other Animal species also are involved in cannibalism and random out breaks against their own kind, so in our species we shouldn't prohibit murder either, its natural.

Umm..what? All of those things you just mentioned involve victimization of others. If two consenting adults want to be together, there is no harm done to them or you. There's nothing wrong or harmful about gay people. You're being utterly ridiculous.

BTW- you're talking to one. So I appreciate that you use fair comparisons, and stop comparing me and others like me to cannibals and murderers.

I currently have a 4.7L V8 Dodge Dakota. I'd buy a diesel version of it in a heartbeat. I could still get the power/hauling ability needed but have the mileage to justify having the pickup.

But now with the possibility of having $5/gal gas looming, the 18 HWY MPG may force my hand.

Had the truck for over 5 years, but it may get too cost prohibitive to keep.

I thought Core Solo production was winding down, so maybe Apple could buy 'em all and do a price-drop. :D

Maybe in another life ... :(

Better still, Apple could move to Duos and do a price drop... (I wish!) ;)

I've lost 2 big units lately for the same reason, power loss & reboots and another one wasn't picked up in stats

It's hard to stay interested but it really doesn't take any effort to keep going. Maybe too many discover performance issues after they start and only have their main machine to fold with? Maybe as people get newer machines with multiple cores there will be fewer dropouts due to perfomance problems... which reminds me of one of my pet peeves - everyone talks about how not very many applications can take advantage of multi core machines - multiple aplications CAN take advantage of multiple cores... and thus performance is vastly improved when running many apps. my two cents - get as many cores as you can! :D

    sorry you lost some units.

i think people get tired of letting their computer fold, and quit folding to be able to use it normally. that, and lack of interest around here

    So this is interesting.

Everything is core duo, incuding the minis.
There is a movie announcement next week.
I still can't help but think that the mini has been silently hardware upgraded and will be the video iPod of the coming months. Download to the mini, keep your movies on it, it gets directly connected to your TV and you potentially have an HD movie solution to compete with netflix.

    Very interesting. . .

That'll be the marshmallows they use to replace the springs to make it a little softer for the yanks. :D

While I haven't driven the Insignia over in Europe, the Regal drives solid and is very stable. So I don't think they did any modifications to the suspension.

A SPEED TV show went over to Europe to drive a US Spec Buick Regal and drove it on the autobahn and nurburgring.

Thats not true ! Ive been reading everyone's posts but you just don't want to see both sides of the story. I just want Apple to do better...

Look at this business weekly online story about Apple - very interesting

    http://www.businessweek.com/technology/content/apr2004/tc2004047_5468_tc056.htm

really, this is what Ive been taking about...I think that most Mac users don't want to hear it

    and this one too

    http://www.macworld.co.uk/news/main_news.cfm?NewsID=8372

ok, YOU listen to "our side" of the story now!!!!! The point is, apple is NOT dying, they do not need saving, blah blah blah. just read the 100 posts above mine explaining this to you, but you refusing to listen. If you want apple to do better, then think that and leave the rest of us alone. I myself wouldn't mind having more of my contacts using a mac so i wouldn't have to do tech support for them all the time, but then again, that would cut down on people who force money on me for it..... :D

I don't think touchscreen games/consoles could ever completely replace traditional ones. A separate market, yeah, sure. But button-and-joystick consoles won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

Also, every time LTD posts I have a hard time discerning if he's trolling or not.

I have often wondered this, but I think it's too much dedication for a troll, but having looked at how he behaves, calling Steve Balmer "Monkey Boy", referring to Microsoft as "Micro$oft" or "Microsuck, he calls Windows "Windoze" or "Winblows" like a small child.

He immediately bows down and worships any decision Apple makes. He also thinks that Apple should be above the law because of "Their supreme awesomeness"

From this behaviour I've determined that he has to be about 14 years old.

you can be certain that the price-difference is there. since merom and yonah are 1:1 compatible, why would anyone use yonah istead of merom? but since the two will be sold side-by-side, yonah obviously has some benefits that merom does not have. and that benefit is most likely price.

I've got hard facts to back up my claim. Do you have any for yours? :)

I saw the ad yesterday on TV and I really liked it. It didn't show a bunch of apps I'll never use, it kind of drove home the point that the future of computing will be something like this.
